Dear Member,

Spring has almost arrived, and summer may come some time -- However we must move forward. Next year is our 30th Anniversary and there is lots to be done. Any ideas for the 30th - programmes/celebrations / medals / prizes --- to Derek as soon as possible. It is a big year !!!!!

Annual General Meeting
The meeting will be held on Sunday, June 22nd, at 7 p.m. in St. Brides Centre, Douglas.
The balance sheet will be presented and the disposal of excess funds considered. Any suggestions or proposals or any local worthy causes should be notified to Anne Nolan (851684) or any Committee member as soon as possible. This has been a financially successful Show with excellent audiences, increased income and much appreciated Grants from the South Lanarkshire Council and from the Hagshaw Hill Windfarm Trust as well as very good support from local Businesses.
Prospective producers/writers will be invited to the Committee Meeting in May/June prior to the AGM to discuss proposals for the 2009 Show, to be put to the AGM. Prospective Producers/writers should contact Derek or Anne as soon as possible.
Any Agenda items should be intimated to Anne before the AGM. (851684)

Bowling Night
We propose to run a 10 pin Bowling Night back at Pro-Lane Bowl in East Kilbride on Friday 23rd May. The previous nights have been brilliant and again we’ll be playing for superb prizes and of course the incredible Douglasdale Players Trophy, currently held by Derek Hair. Can we prize it away from him? Can we handicap him?? ----- be there and find out !!!
Please advise Derek (851562) Louise (851632) or Stuart Finlay (851549) before the 16th May giving your name and your own skill assessment (ie good, not bad, ok, rubbish, never played etc) to assist Team Selections. The Bowling venue is licensed with various food outlets and possibly a karaoke. Teams of three will compete (hopefully 10 or 12 Teams will compete)
The night should cost around £12.00 which should cover 2 games and the bus fare.
The bus will leave Douglas Arms Hotel at 6.30 p.m. and leave East Kilbride about 11.30pm.
Kids under 15 should be accompanied by a responsible person (Note:- Bowls are heavy and may not be suitable for younger kids --
So don’t delay – get your name in today.
